Sculptures
Dee enjoys creating handmade sculptures in several distinct styles. They have been in local and international juried art exhibitions.
The feminine sculptures are handmade cement-based forms, not mannequins. As she creates them, they "come to life" in the studio, revealing their "personalities" through textures and colors. They are not solid, but shell-like in shape, so are relatively lightweight.
The “Love Letters” are handmade cement-based layered artworks. Each layer symbolizes a “love letter”—an expression of gratitude. These artworks are completely handmade, requiring many hours of work in the studio.
The Illuminated Shards Sculptures are modern-day alchemy featuring texture, color, and effects of reflected light.
